Dear Lions of District 16J,

Greetings to Lions, Leo-Lion and Leos of District 16J.

It is with deep gratitude and humility that I begin this journey as your District Governor, serving alongside each of you across District 16J.

My journey to this moment did not begin today. It began two years ago, shaped by the leadership, vision, and inspiration of those who came before me. Under the guidance of PDG Rogel Bautista, we embraced Hope, Faith and Love, a message that reminded us of the values that strengthen our Lion family. Under IPDG John Schweska’s leadership, we were called to Bring Light, Build Unity, inspiring us to lead with purpose and togetherness.

This year, our theme, Be the Light, is a natural continuation of that journey. It is both a call to action and a reminder of who we are as Lions. Light brings hope, clarity, warmth, and direction when paths seem unclear. Every act of kindness, every service project, and every hand extended in compassion becomes a light that transforms lives.

We move forward in continuity, honoring the strong foundation laid before us. We are not starting anew; we are building upon a legacy.

Our International President’s theme, Rooted in Service, beautifully reflects the heart of our

Lions motto: We Serve. Like roots that nourish and sustain growth, service grounds our mission and strengthens our communities.

When we stay rooted in service, our light shines farther.
