Dear Fellow District 16J Lions,

My dear fellow Lions,

The lion is a strong majestic animal that captures our attention and imagination. It's prowess in the jungle is legendary, but it also has a great capacity for tenderness in caring for it's cubs and in building the family bond of unity for its pride. The lion is a symbol of balance of who we are. As world-wide Clubs of human Lions, we generate both local and global respect for our courage and tenacity to do great projects, but we are especially known for our caring and compassionate approach to all in need. With empathic service, we  humbly but avidly lead the way in caring for others. In visibly serving others, we also draw new members who want to do the great things they see in us and in our Clubs. However, to persevere as happy and healthy Lions, we strive to always empower one another by encouragement and genuine fellowship; such unity of purpose sustains us as we press forward each day to make a difference in the world! The chosen emblem for my pin displays the unity of two Lions holding the golden heart of charity and goodwill. Behind it is the beacon of light, and also the fire of energy, human kindness, and warmth. May we together embrace the golden heart in unity, and continue to light the path for ourselves and others with genuine service and the generosity of our lives. Together, let's keep at it: "Bring Light, Build Unity"!
