First Vice District Governor, 2025-2026
First Vice District Governor, 2025-2026
Dear Fellow Lions,
I am humbled and honored to serve as your 1st Vice District Governor. I want to thank each of you for electing me to this position.
As a member of the District Governor’s team, I am committed to fulfilling the District Governor’s vision of serving with hope, faith, and love. Let’s make a positive impact by serving with love, compassion, and humility. Let's all remain dedicated to our call to service, “where there is a need, there’s a Lion.” Lions are a beacon of hope and light for many communities around the world. In times of disaster or humanitarian crisis, and through funding and support for research in Diabetes or preventable blindness, we continue to uphold our role as the Knights of the Blind. Our mission begins locally but our reach is global. I encourage you to consider donating to LCIF’s Empowering Service Fund when possible.
This year, let’s commit to growing our Lions’ Pride in 16J by recruiting at least 1 new member for each of our clubs. Let's open our hearts and minds to serve our communities with more hands and build stronger clubs. Remember, to Ask 1 today.
Together in service and Lionism,
Lion Subarna Sahni
I am happy to serve as 16J Cabinet Secretary 2025-2026. This is my second year as CS. I am also the President of the Summit Lions Club serving my second term as well. Both positions carry great responsibilities but I am up for the challenge, as always. I look forward to seeing everyone at all the Cabinet meetings and other events. It will be another successful year working under our new DG John JD Schweska. Bring Light and Build Unity!
When I wake up in the morning, I thank God I can see! I look out my window and I can see the tops of the trees and parts of the sky. The sun is just rising. Squirrels and birds are busy at work and I'm getting ready to start my day. Without my sight, I would only be able to imagine all that surrounds me, by listening.
I had 3 very close friends who lost their sight as adults. They only had their memories and hearing to rely on.
Serving the visually impaired and getting involved with other community projects has always been a part of my life since I was a teenager. My father was a very active Lion. He took me everywhere with him. He inspired me to give back. Serving the blind dinner, escorting them inside the buildings and driving them to their meetings really made me feel good. And I continue to do these wonderful services.
I am now entering my 44th year as a LION and I enjoy every moment being a member of the largest service organization in the world!
Membership has always been my specialty so if I can emphasize anything it would be to recruit recruit recruit! Just Ask. We as Lions must always be thinking of the future of our clubs. Always be looking out for talented, like minded individuals like yourself and invite them to your next service project. They will come because they trust you will lead them in the right direction.. to serve.
